Save the Date! OCA Sacramento's Dragon Boat Festival Celebration is returning Thursday, May 22, 2025, and will center on OCA Sacramento’s legacy of 30 years serving the Greater Sacramento Community. Honorees for the event will beannounced at a later time.
Proceeds from the celebration will benefit and support both OCA-APA Sacramento chapter and OCA-APA National programs to serve the community that aligns with OCA-APA’s mission. Your generous support allows OCA-APA to continue programs such as the summer internship, civic participation, young professional mentorship, leadership development, educational forums, senior luncheon, and many more advocacy, civic, cultural, and educational activities and projects.
The Dragon Boat Festival began 2,300 years ago to commemorate the life of Qu Yuan, a Patriotic Poet and statesman, for his loyalty to his country and his advocacy for the rights of the common people in China. This festival is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month in the Lunar Calendar. Since the month of May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, OCA Sacramento has selected May to symbolize this great occasion and host our annual signature fundraising event, the Dragon Boat Festival Celebration.
We hope you will show your support and celebrate with us at this very special occasion. For sponsorship information, please contact [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected].
