300th Anniversary Date of the Actual Communion Celebration of the First Communion of theGerman Reformed Church in America
This year we have been celebrating the 300th Anniversary of the German Reformed Church in the United States which began with the first communion at Falkner Swamp, October 15, 1725. This celebration of our immigrant heritage is particularly meaningful and instructive given the current conversations about immigration happening around the nation.
A history strong in its roots and its capacity to evolve within God’s unfolding creation leads us into an uncertain future by God’s certain presence.
On this day, October 15, we close the worship celebrations with communion on the actual anniversary date of that first communion held by our ancestors.
Join us at Wentz's UCC for this historical and final worship of our 300th Anniversary celebrations.
