A DEFINITION OF MINDFULNESS: "Paying attention on purpose, with curiosity and care".

In today’s modern world there are so many demands on our attention ,whether that’s 24/7 news ,social media ,constant notifications on our phone. Pulling our attention in different directions can leave us with a heightened sense of unease and anxiety.

Mindfulness training has the potential to allow us to take a step back ,to flourish and live more fully.

This 3 session (evidenced based course ) is built on the framework of the 8-week Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) course ,which draws from ancient wisdom and modern psychology.

On this 3 session course we will focus on 3 key themes and practices ,exploring how they can support us in navigating the ups and downs of everyday life. Resources will be provided, including a handbook to assist with learning.

Anne Marie Gillies will be facilitating the sessions.

These sessions will run on 3 consecutive weeks, starting on Sunday 18th January from 2-3pm in The Place to Pause & Breathe, Bonnybridge. It's £50 to come along, with a reduced rate available. Please pick the price that best reflects your circumstances.

There are yoga mats cushions and blankets at the centre, but you may wish to bring your own. You can also use a chair (which will be provided).

Meet Your Facilitator:
Anne Marie spent her working life in the NHS as a nurse. Her last 20 years were in Mental Health, where she saw how poor mental health effects the quality of people’s lives. Toward the end of her career, treatment was expanding and Mindfulness programmes were developing. With a view to helping her patients and colleagues she began her own journey into Mindfulness. Studying with Mindfullybeing, The Heart Movement and Pause & Breathe. Have recently completed teacher training in Mindfulness she is keen to share the benefits of living mindfully with others.
