The first topic is a book review of Louise Perry's book . Louise Perry majored in women's studies, worked in rape crisis centers, and is a secular feminist, but she maintains that typically, male and female heterosexuals have very different wants and needs from sex, and the sexual revolution wound up indulging male desires at the expense of women.

There are a couple of things not mentioned in this review that might be mentioned in the book:

  • The way things play out in the heterosexual dating marketplace, the most attractive (whatever that means) males have sex with a lot of women, who find themselves unable to get their partners to stick around, while males of average or below attractiveness (whatever that is) find they are experiencing little or no sex.
  • There has been an explosion of births out of wedlock. Currently 40% of all babies born in the US are born out of wedlock. Many are with the father cohabiting with the mother, but on average, he's out of the picture in 3 years. Children raised in single-parent homes, or homes with stepparents, experience worse life outcomes. In addition, births out of wedlock are very strongly inversely correlated with the education level of the mother, so most of these children are born to women who lack the marketable skills to be able to adequately support the child single-handedly.
