USUKAA trip to Turin (Torino), Italy
Wednesday 26th to Friday 28th March 2025
Turin is the capital city of Piedmont in North West Italy and is renowned worldwide for its refined architecture and cuisine, as well as things like Ferrero, Lavazza, red wines (Barolo, Barbaresco) and Fiat.
A huge thank you to our alumna member Maria Costanza Katsaros for suggesting her home town as a destination and for her help in preparing the itinerary.
**Please note that members are responsible for booking their own flights and accommodation. We recommend that flight and hotel bookings be made as soon as possible to guarantee best price and availability.
**Members are also responsible for paying all expenses, including meals and drinks, and any (optional) tours. Once you have registered your interest in attending, we will co-ordinate with you regarding this.

Flight Options
Direct flights from London to Turin take under 2 hrs. Some options include:
EasyJet 8357 leaves London Gatwick at 0625 and arrives Turin 0920, Return Easyjet 8360 leaves Turin 1820 and arrives LGW 1915
Ryanair 464 leaves London Stansted 0950 and arrives Turin 1245, return Ryanair 466 leaves Turin 0945 on 28th and arrives Stansted 1045, return either with Easyjet on 28th (as above) or on 29th Ryanair 1720 arrives Stansted 1820.
*Later flight: British Airways 2596 leaves LGW at 1620 and arrives Turin 1910, Return BA 2599 leaves Turin 2205 and arrives LGW 2300.

Draft Itinerary
Wednesday 26th March
11am Meet at NH Hotel Centro and walk through the city to the Piazza Vittorio Veneto on the River Po (approx. 40 mins)
12pm-1.30pm Lunch in Piazza Vittorio/Piazza Gran Madre
1.45-3.45pm Guided tour of Mole Antonelliana (167m high tower built as a synagogue in C19th) and National Museum of Cinema (inside Mole Antonelliana) (cost approx. £75 TBC)
Walk to Parco del Valentino along the River Po (35 mins), stroll around the park and the replica Medieval village and Castle (Borgo e Rocca Medievale) built for the 1884 International Exhibition (60 mins), walk to restaurant (20 mins)
Dinner at Sestogusto (https://www.massimilianoprete.it/sestogusto-torino/ ), one of the best pizzerias in Turin
walk to hotel (30 mins)
Thursday 27th March
9.20am Meet at NH Hotel Centro. 30 mins walk.
10am-12pm walking tour from Piazza CLN to include Piazzo San Carlo, Piazza Carignano, Piazza Castello and ending outside the Mole Antonelliana (optional tour guide approx. £30 pp TBC)
Short underground ride
Lunch at Eataly Ligotto (food and shopping)

2.30-4.30pm Guided Tour of Palazzo Reale (Royal Palace of Turin, a UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site) (approx. £45 pp TBC)
