Three day itinerary
Day 1 β Tue, Feb 11: Las Vegas β Brian Head β Cedar City
Leave Las Vegas at 6:00 AM (carpools from Santa Fe Station Hotel & Casino β East Garage, 2nd Floor).β
Ski all day at Brian Head Ski Resort (all levels welcome; beginner-friendly runs and lessons available).β
Evening: drive to Cedar City (about 35 minutes from Brian Head) and stay overnight there.β
Day 2 β Wed, Feb 12: Brian Head β Zion National Park
Morning/afternoon: second full day of skiing at Brian Head Ski Resort.β
Evening: drive from Brian Head/Cedar City to Zion National Park area and check into lodging near the park for the night.β
Day 3 β Thu, Feb 13: Angels Landing β Las Vegas
Morning: hike Angels Landing in Zion National Park. There are 5 summit permits available on a first-come, first-served basis; others will hike to Scout Lookout if they do not have permits.β
Late afternoon/evening: drive back to Las Vegas (about 3 hours; remember Utah is 1 hour ahead).β

Travel, lodging, and carpool
Approximate drive time: ~3.5 hours each way between Las Vegas and Brian Head; ~3 hours between Las Vegas and Zion National Park.β
Primary carpool meet-up for the trip: Santa Fe Station Hotel & Casino β East Garage, 2nd Floor; a separate carpool meet for the Angels Landing group may use Cannery Casino Parking Garage, 3rd Floor (far end). Arrive early; late arrivals may be left behind.β
Lodging:
Night 1 in Cedar City (35 minutes from Brian Head).
Night 2 near Zion National Park.
Contact the host for recommended options; participants may also arrange their own lodging if preferred.β
Cost sharing: expect to share fuel and lodging costs if you join a carpool or group accommodations.β
Ski permits, gear, and lessons
A ski lift permit is required for both ski days; for best pricing, purchase in advance on Brian Headβs official site and add rentals when buying the pass if you need gear.β
Ski gear checklist: ski/snow pants, thermals, puffer jacket, windbreaker, ski helmet, ski goggles/glasses, winter socks, warm gloves, and suitable footwear to walk to rentals.β
Recommended extras: sunscreen, hand and foot warmers, at least 2 liters of water, snacks/breakfast for the drive, and a camera or phone for photos.β
All levels welcome for skiing; beginners are encouraged to consider lessons offered by the resort.β
Angels Landing hike details and requirements
Hike: Angels Landing, Zion National Park β approximately 4.5 miles round trip with about 1,827 feet of elevation gain; expect around 5 hours including breaks.β
Difficulty: moderate to strenuous with exposed sections and significant heights; this hike is not suitable for beginners, people afraid of heights, or unsupervised kids.
Not allowed / not recommended: no dogs, no casual guests, and no unsupervised children; only confirmed participants may join.β
What to bring for Angels Landing
National Park Pass (if you have one) and cash for gas and post-hike dinner (around 30 dollars for your driver and 25 dollars for food).β
Food and water: breakfast/snack for the road, lunch for the trail, and at least 2 liters of water.β
Gear: sturdy hiking shoes with good grip and ankle support, socks, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, hiking poles, microspikes (recommended in winter conditions), and an optional change of clothes for dinner.β
