📅 Duration: 3 Days🏞️ Location: Rees Valley, near Glenorchy
🚣♂️ Skill Level: Beginner-Friendly
Day 1
We’ll depart central Queenstown at 8am and head up to Glenorchy, where we'll cover course theory and outcomes. Once geared up, we’ll dive into the basics of river swimming and packrafting skills. Day 1 wraps up with a full run of the middle Rees River.
Day 2
We’ll focus on rescue skills and run a mini-expedition down the river. Expect a mix of paddling, scouting, and practicing essential maneuvers along the way.
Day 3
Our final day is all about fine-tuning your paddling skills. We’ll work on repetition and progression, tackling new rapids and practicing tougher moves. By the end, you'll have noticeably improved!
We’ll finish and return to Queenstown around 6pm.
Camping & Food
Though this course is structured as a series of day trips, we can suggest affordable DOC campsites if you'd prefer to camp. We can even provide tents and equipment if needed.
Equipment
Bring your own gear if you have it, but if not, we can provide everything you need for $40/day. This fee can be used towards future gear purchases after the course.
