Amanda Shaffer is a textile artist and teacher. She has been teaching sewing classes to all ages through The Studio Bakersfield for over 7 years. Amanda learned to sew from her grandmother when she was 15. The unique aspect of sewing something that no one else has is what inspired the outlet and since has found so much joy in helping others achieve the same feeling.
Madison Cowan is a professional oil painter and printmaker currently based in Bakersfield, California. Her work captures the vibrant energy and raw beauty of rural and urban landscapes. Working outdoors and in the studio, she immerses herself in the ever-changing atmosphere, translating fleeting moments into timeless paintings. Her focus on plein air painting allows her to engage directly with the environment, responding to the play of light, shifting shadows, often working in real-time.
