Hi from Matt Bridgestone. This is the comics signup link for my March Madness Comedy comeptition at the Claridge in Atlantic City. Over the past decade, I have produced shows in Atlantic City with comics such as Gilbert Gottfried, Pete Davidson, Artie Lange, Jessica Kirson, Kenan Thompson, Marcello Hernandez, and many more.
The Celebrity Theater at Claridge is a Legendary venue which has had acts such as Frank Sinatra and Don Rickels.
March 22nd I am having my first March Madness comedy contest. Comics get paid $5 per person that come to see them perform, regardless of what place they finish. The winner gets $500, and a headline spot on a future date in Atlantic City. The registration FEE is the same cost of a single GA ticket of $20. Once you register, I will email you a personal link to promote the show.
32 Comics will compete. The show will run about 2 hours, with a winner being crowned the same night. Sign up now before all the spots are gone.
I will be judging the contest so that it does not come down to people advancing based on how many friends they bring, but in a close round I will be asking for audience applause to help decide who advances. The structure will be:
Round. 1- 32 Comics-1 minute each.
Round 2- 16 Comics- 90 Seconds Each
Round 3- 8 Comics- 2 Min each
Round 4- Final 4 - 3 Min Each
Finals- 2 Comics- 5 min each.
In a scenario that I feel is too close to call, there will be a 45 second joke off where you must tell another joke to decide the winner of that round. To go all the way, comics should be prepared with about 15 minutes of total material.
