Superintendent Tim Hardesty, Cabell County Schools Superintendent Tim Hardesty is in his first year as the leader of Cabell County Schools, having previously served as the superintendent of Mason County. The majority of his 27-year career in public education has been spent in Cabell County, during which he proudly served as a classroom teacher, principal, and central office administrator. Mr. Hardesty’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Education, Master of Arts in Leadership Studies, and an Education Specialist Degree, all from Marshall University.
With a belief that public education should be the first and best option for families in West Virginia, Mr. Hardesty is dedicated to ensuring that schools and teachers have the resources they need to offer the best educational opportunities possible to the students and families we serve. He believes that by supporting student and staff needs, inside and outside the classroom, we can achieve improved outcomes for everyone involved in the educational process. The integration of the school community into the greater community at large is a priority for Mr. Hardesty as well, as he believes we all benefit when we work together.
On a personal level, Mr. Hardesty has been married to his wonderful wife, Tammy, for over 35 years. Together, they have one son, Joshua, who is a freshman at Marshall University. He is also dedicated to Christ, serving as a deacon at Milton Baptist Church. Some of his hobbies include disc golf, photography, gardening, and old cars.
