About this Event

Elsa van der Linden - tenorsax

Elsa embarks on a sonic adventure with her tenor saxophone, infused with a blend of cardboard, foil, and metal. A 'feedback loop' is added, which controls the resonances of these materials. In her solo improvisations, a lively dialogue emerges between saxophone and 'feedback loop', with unexpected textures and resonances bubbling up from the resonating material.
Elsa van der Linden does research in catching the moment, through listening, performing and documenting. As a musician and scenographer she is interested in the unexpected happenings of the surroundings. She plays with the saxophone as instrument and the space as co-performer. Improvisation is for her a perfect tool to listen to what is already there and use that as the starting point to create a moment specific experience. Elsa is founder of improvisation platform and ensemble BUI.

Tobias Klein - bass clarinet

In January 2014, Tobias Klein was invited by the OSSO collective to visit their workshop in the Portuguese countryside. The area is in several respects the opposite of Tobias' hometown of Amsterdam: the peace, the space, the mild weather, the smells, the taste of the food...

In the spacious hall of the workshop, Tobias developed a bass clarinet solo piece with video projection.

Tobias Klein is a bass clarinetist, saxophonist and composer. He is artistic director of the Spinifex ensemble. He can also be heard with the Dalgoo quartet, in duo with clarinetist Oguz Büyükberber and in trio with Marta Warelis and Frank Rosaly.
