It's going to be a great night on Friday, May 9 when Blue Lunch plays for The Land Lindy Hop's Second Friday Swing Dance! Blue Lunch is a Cleveland-based 8-9 piece band with multiple vocalists and a 3 piece horn section that has been performing its brand of Swing, Blues, Soul, New Orleans Rhythm and Blues, and Jazz throughout the region for 40 years! We'll be in the beautiful ballroom at The Brownhoist, with a 30 minute beginner dance lesson to get the night started.
Doors Open: 6:45pm
Beginner Lesson: 7:00pm
Band Plays: 7:30 - 10:30pm
Entry for the entire event is $18 at the door (cash, Venmo, Paypal, or Zelle). No pre-registration required.
Come join The Land Lindy Hop for a great night of LIVE music suitable for Lindy Hop, Charleston, Balboa, and more at the historic Brownhoist ballroom. All are welcome! No partner or experience necessary!
Free parking is available in the lot at the corner of St. Clair and E. 45th, as well as on surrounding streets.
More about the band: Blue Lunch has performed at numerous clubs, community concerts, swing dances, and festivals including the Tri-C JazzFest, Pittsburgh Blues Festival, and Columbus Jazz and Ribs Festival. Blue Lunch has appeared at iconic Northeast Ohio venues including Nighttown, the Beachland Ballroom, and The Bop Stop.
Blue Lunch has also produced 8 CDs, including "Saxophone Shootout II, Live at Nighttown", which was voted one of the top 5 independently produced CDs at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis!
Blue Lunch has also been a backing band/collaborated with internationally recognized musicians, including Billy Price, Tad Robinson, Eli "Paperboy" Reed, and Candye Kane, among others!
