Why attend?

Our intention behind the Wasat Community retreat is to cultivate "suhba" defined as spiritual and physical companionship. Our goal is for community members to feel a sense of belonging within the Wasat Community and to cultivate companionship. This program will be a mixture of a class and social gathering for new Muslims, developing Muslims, and community members who are interested in Islam. For families and individuals!

Feedback from last year (2024):

"The location was perfect especially access to the river & hike. Loved the intimacy of the group; perfect size. Wouldn’t want it bigger or smaller."

"I was able to spend more time with another family and a few newer folks that I hadn’t met before. It’s nice to see them elsewhere and feel like we share a bond, especially the folks who bonded with my kid.

I also just appreciated the vibes around male and female interaction: sometimes the brothers will make us women feel like we’re all haram—but none of the men at this retreat seemed to do that. Also there was a clear intention to uplift the women and I loved that."

"I came back more committed to my prayers and to finding time for various worship: reflection, Quran, meditation, thikr (per the sheikh’s instruction). I wish I could I’ve kept it all up but I am still in a better place than before. Alhamdulillah."
