In January 2024 (BC South Coast), Native Fishing Association (NFA) partnered with Nuu Chah Nulth Economic Development Corp (NEDC) and Ha'oom Fisheries to create a first-of-its-kind conference for indigenous marine harvesters and indigenous seafood buyers.
The purpose of the conference was to facilitate the education and networking of both these groups to increase seafood security in British Columbia. The conference was an extraordinarily success for both indigenous seafood providers and seafood buyers.
Let’s come together to witness the "sea change" in both harvesters excited about direct selling and buyers excited about more access to local seafood.
