Human Trafficking is the fastest growing crime in the world and affects over 27 million victims. Locally there are programs committed to ending human trafficking in the Ohio Valley. Locally there are programs committed to ending human trafficking in the Ohio Valley by educating the community, protecting victims, and rehabilitating those in need. One of those programs is Harmony House Children's Advocacy Center located in Wheeling, West Virginia. Harmony House is a comprehensive, child-focused program based in a facility that allows prosecutors, law enforcement, CPS workers, medical & mental health professionals, victim advocates to work together to strengthen our communities response to child abuse and human trafficking.
We all have an important role to play in preventing human trafficking and protecting victims. Ignite Hope is a local volunteer group that has partnered with this organizations to support their efforts in educating, protecting victims, and rehabilitating those in need.
On January 18th, 2025 from 6pm-9pm, Ignite Hope will host their second annual Charity Event at the White Palace to help raise awareness and funding for the upcoming year. A portion of the proceeds from this event will go directly to the above mentioned organization in hopes that we can bring an end to this heinous crime in our area. In order to make this event possible, we are inviting different food vendor sponsors who are willing to provide/donate food for around 250-300 people to join us in the effort to raise money to support this organization.
