Hoag Orthopedics is proud to present the 2nd Annual HOI Spine Symposium. Join your clinical colleagues at the beautiful Balboa Bay Resort in Newport Beach, California. Experts in the field of spine will present on a variety of topics related to spinal surgery, non-operative care, and discussions ranging from surgery in the ambulatory surgery center to complex deformity cases.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Orthopaedic Education and Research Institute of Southern California DBA Hoag Orthopedics is a 501c3 non-profit founded by Hoag Orthopedic Institute physicians. The nonprofit exists to foster education, research, and community outreach in orthopedic care.
The mission of Hoag Orthopedics is to support meaningful research and education in health care with an emphasis in orthopedics, in order to improve the quality of health care provided within our community.
OBJECTIVES:
1. Explain key concepts in counseling patients on non-surgical options for back pain.
2. Identify evidence-based therapies to enhance the care of non-operative spine patients.
3. Apply advanced techniques in the planning and execution of deformity surgery.
4. Describe key findings from spinal deformity case outcomes.
5. Explain long-term outcomes associated with different surgical approaches for spinal fusion.
6. Use knowledge of complications from different surgical approaches to improve the quality
of practice.
7. Evaluate the use of robotics and navigation in spine surgery.
ACCREDITATION
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation
requirements and policies of the California Medical Association (CMA) through the joint
providership of Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian and Orthopaedic Education and Research
Institute of Southern California. The Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian is accredited by the
CMA to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Credit Designation: Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian designates this live educational
activity for a maximum of 4.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Creditβ’. Physicians should claim credit
commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This credit can apply to the CMA Certification of Continuing Medical Education.
