2nd Annual County Line Derby - at Flag Hill

Join us for an exciting day at the 2nd Annual County Line Derby!

Welcome to a mashup of the elegance and big hats of the Kentucky Derby with the chaos and excitement of a snowshoe race, snow or not.

Entertainment and winnings abound. Racers and watchers can both win prizes when they attend our Derby Party!

Watchers of the race can attend for free though we request you get a ticket. Food and drink will be on sale both before and after the race.

9:30 am - Pre-Race Activities Begin

• Racers arrive and prepare for race.
• Racers introduce their Racer personas to the crowd
• Watchers enter wager who will win race and vote for best racer persona.

10:15am - RACETIME

10:45am - After Party Begins - includes drawings and winners ceremonies (see below)

Derby activities will be held OUTSIDE, with warming stations for relief, but dress for the weather!

After Party will be held INSIDE.

For participating RACERS (must be 21+)

We invite up to 12 racers to agree to enter the race and be eligible for winnings. Glory awaits you, but you will have to earn it!

On top of working your hardest to win the race, you are also tasked with winning over the guests with your Racer Persona! Choose your racer name in the theme of a Kentucky Derby horse (such as Bourbon King, Grape Scott, Yellow Snow). Pick a theme, wear a costume, create a character. It is up to you how you impress the guests with your style. More details to follow.

We will provide snowshoes, unless you would like to bring your own. You will race whether there is snow or not. The race course is approximately 760 yards (0.43 miles) and crosses the county line from Strafford to Rockingham and back.

Racers can win prizes for:

• 1st Place in Race - Name on trophy until there is a new winner (on display in the FH Tasting Room) - Free stay at a RiverCrest Villa for next year's race and 4 complimentary tickets to the Derby and After Party - $150 Flag Hill Gift Card or 2 Years of Case Crew
• Best In Style (Guest Vote) - 1 Year Case Crew Membership or $100 Flag Hill Gift Card
• 2nd Place in Race - 6 Month Case Crew membership or $50 Flag Hill Gift Card
• All Racers - Free food and one complimentary drink (following the race)
• All Racers - Professional Printed Racer Photo - and access to digital photos from the event

For WATCHERS

You get to watch the race but you'll have chances to win too!

Guests can win prizes for:

• Best Derby Outfit for Guests (Staff Vote) - 6 Months Case Crew Membership or $50 Flag Hill Gift Card
• Pick 1st place in the Race and have a chance at winning $25 Flag Hill Gift Card (Drawing)

The goal of this snowshoe race is to have fun and win. It is not fun to hurt yourself or other participants/guests. You will NOT win if you hurt yourself or others. As such, let it be known:

Snowshoe Races are inherently dangerous and risky with hazards that can cause injury or death. I agree to not enter the snowshoe race unless I am 21 years old or older and in good physical/mental health, capable of completing the race without issue. I agree, as a condition of being included as a participant in the County Line Derby Snow Show Race, to freely accept and voluntarily assume all risks of property damage, personal injury, or death resulting from their inherent or any other risks or dangers. I RELEASE Flag Hill Distillery & Winery, its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, employees and agents FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY OF ANY KIND INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE which may result from conditions on or about the premises, operation of property or its facilities [sic] or from my participation in any and all race related activities, accepting for myself the full and absolute responsibility for all damages or injury of any kind which may result from any cause. Further, I agree that any claim which I bring against Flag Hill Distillery & Vineyard, its officers, directors, employees or agents shall be brought only in Federal or State courts in the State of New Hampshire.
