Join us for the 2nd Annual Afro-Caribbean Gala!The African Caribbean Centre of Central Alberta (ACCoCA) proudly presents our 2nd Annual Afro-Caribbean Gala, a fundraising celebration in support of our operational mission and community programs.
This year, we honour two historic milestones:
• 100 Years of Global Black History Month Commemorations
• 30 Years of Black History Month Recognition in Canada (1995–2025).
Our keynote speaker will be Honourable Former Mayor Ken Johnston, the first Red Deer mayor to officially recognize Black History Month and a long-time champion of ACCoCA and Black-led organizations in our city.
We are also honoured to welcome Mayor Cindy Jefferies, who will offer remarks and present proclamations marking these significant anniversaries. Several councillors and community leaders will join us in celebration.
