26+2 Yoga is a sequence of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises, practiced in a heated room. This ancient and holistic form of hatha yoga was developed to maintain health and youth through stimulating the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. Postures are organized specifically to create balance within the body and increase the flow of energy and lymph fluid. These postures work on concentration, patience, determination and self-control, all of which lead to mental clarity. An increased ability to handle stress has profound healing effects on both the mind and body and is what makes this practice so unique. This will be a workshop to break down the alignment of the first half of the poses - the standing series. The more you know about and practice 26&2, the more you realize why people LOVE IT! The mental and physical benefits are endless. We want to help make this class more accessible to those curious about the poses! We will use demonstration, hands-on adjustments and discussion about safe and proper alignment and making the poses accessible to your body. Each student will also be given notecards to keep that break down the poses.
