The 265th New York City Saint Patrick's Day Parade — the oldest and largest St. Patrick's Day Parade in the world. First held on March 17, 1762, fourteen years before the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The parade features approximately 150,000 marchers and draws about 2 million spectators. The 2026 Grand Marshal is Robert J. McCann, President of the Irish Arts Center's Board of Directors. The parade route goes up Fifth Avenue beginning at East 44th Street and ending at East 79th Street. This is a free public event organized entirely by volunteers.
