Sprott Shaw College will be hosting our 25th annual “LUNCH WITH SANTA” on November 30, 2024. This is a fun, annual, charity-based family event where we have the opportunity to give back to our community.
The gift baskets we raffle can be valued up to $100’s of dollars and may include everything from books, to stuffed toys, to gift certificates and hotel stays. We provide options for every age group and interest…. we’ve even had hockey tickets and airplane rides. We are happy to receive whatever you would like to contribute – no donation is too big or too small.
Our “gourmet” lunch consists of home-made macaroni & cheese, hotdogs, and juice. Activities can include Face Painting, Coloring, Crafts, Pictures with Santa, Cookie Decorating, Carol Singing, Prize giveaways, Bouncy Castle …… anything that a child would enjoy. Previous years have seen 150-200 children in attendance throughout the day. In addition to all this, our students & staff have prepared 100 “Craft Kits”, for any child unable to attend the actual event. These kits are for sale, at the campus, for $5.00 and include crafts, treats and a box of Mac & Cheese.
This year, all profits from our event will go to support the Kiwanis Club of Penticton’s new program “Kids feeding Kids”. In collaboration with The Foundry, this program will help to not only support food security, but to mentor youth on how to cook healthy and nutritious meals, preserve food, and instill life lessons to some of our most vulnerable youth.
