Sponsored and hosted by the Chillicothe Art League and held on the lawn of the Pump House, this annual juried invitational art festival (now in its 25th year) represents a simple, natural approach to festivals, without the mass-produced, carnival atmosphere. It is a free gift from the Chillicothe Art League to the community with the help of David Meade Massie Trust and local donors. The festival was designed to promote Earth-friendly art, music, food, products and ideas and inspire the public with songs and art about nature. If severe weather is forecast for Saturday, the festival would be rescheduled for Sunday April 13.The Chillicothe Art League invites artists, musicians and organizations from with a 100-mile radius of Chillicothe to apply. Vendors sell affordable, quality, hand-made art such as jewelry, fiber art, clothing, hats and purses, sculpture, painting and collage, functional and decorative ceramics, candles, garden art, honey, soaps and more. No alcohol or pets permitted in the festival area. This is a family friendly event.
MANGOS Authentic Taco Truck from Waverly, will serve healthy chicken, beef or veggie street tacos, quesadillas, salads and true fruit smoothies (pina colada or mixed berry).
R KITCHEN Custom Catering Food Truck from Chillicothe will be our SECOND FOOD TRUCK option and will serve Chicken Bowls and Chicken Wraps.
TWO ROASTING JOES/LIVY CAKES will serve coffee and tea products (hot and cold) and desserts too!
Six local and regional bands will play throughout the day. The event is a free to attend. No pets or alcohol will be permitted in the festival area. Smokers please be respectful of children and families at this event. Each band plays on the hour for 40 minutes. Musical lineup is as follows
12 p.m. TOADSTOOL SHADOW (folk trio)
1 p.m. YOCTANGEE FIRE (jazz)
2 p.m. HILLBILLY CHIC (bluegrass)
3 p.m. ANDY SHAW BAND (roots rock reggae)
4: 15 p.m. GATHERING STARS
5:15 p.m. EMOTIONAL JAMMAGE (reggae)
More information coming over the next week. The event is full, and we are not taking any additional vendors. All work has been juried in by an outside judge. For future reference, March 1 is always the deadline for applications. They are mailed in December. Please contact the coordinator before December if you wish to be considered for an application.
