About this Event
Save the date to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Lake Crabtree Demonstration Garden in partnership with the Wake County Extension Master Gardeners!
Originally, in August 2000, the Lake Crabtree demonstration garden was established as a WaterWise Garden. This was a garden that demonstrated how to reduce pollution by limiting water usage, all while employing proper landscaping techniques and appropriate plant selection. This was the first of many demonstration gardens that NC State Extension Master GardenerSM volunteers of Wake County would come to manage throughout the county.
While the garden has maintained its roots of being a demonstration garden, it has spent the last couple of years shifting from a WaterWise garden to a native plant and pollinator garden, which is now full of beautiful plants that you can find in the wilds of North Carolina.
We humbly invite you and your family to come out and spend the day learning about our native plants and pollinators, and also celebrating our amazing volunteers who have kept this garden thriving. Please register using this link to sign up to attend our anniversary celebration on September 27th from 10 am-1 pm.
This event is FREE and open to the public. The Extension Master Gardener volunteers will be there providing tours of the garden, and, alongside 4-H, will be providing information about native plants and pollinators. We encourage everyone to attend and learn more about pollinators, native plants, and our natural environment while having a fun day at Lake Crabtree. We will send a reminder email to everyone who registers online. Look forward to seeing you all there!
