UPDATE: The Concert Hall for 250Lex: Concert for Lexington is at capacity. However, to meet the excitement and demand of our community, we have created a Concert Hall waitlist. Additionally, we have opened up the Recital Hall for general admission where the performance will be live streamed. Tickets will be scanned for entry into both halls.—
Join us on Sunday, September 7, for 250Lex: Concert for Lexington, a celebration of the City’s 250th anniversary, featuring an all-star lineup of Lexington artists!
Conducted by Music Director Mélisse Brunet, the Lexington Philharmonic honors Lexington’s rich musical legacy with a work by trailblazing composer Julia Perry and a world premiere by Shawn E. Okpebholo, co-commissioned by the City of Lexington and the Blue Grass Community Foundation for this occasion. The celebration continues with another world premiere performance by the Central Kentucky Youth Orchestras, showcasing the next generation of Lexington’s vibrant musical community.
In the second half of the concert LexPhil joins forces with songwriter and cellist, Ben Sollee, and caps off the night with a joyous collaboration with Joslyn & The Sweet Compression for a powerful and uplifting tribute to our city.
🎶 The concert begins at 3PM in the Singletary Center for the Arts Concert Hall. Prior to the concert, join us for a free celebration at 1PM on the Singletary Center for the Arts lawn featuring performances, interactive activities, refreshments, and more.
