About this Event
"Paghahanap ng Koneksyon"
The theme of our concert, "Paghahanap ng Koneksyon," means "Seeking Connection" in Tagalog. This theme emphasizes how important it is to always seek out for and build our relationships to our culture and community. By fostering these connections, we can better understand and appreciate the diverse experiences, perspectives, and traditions that shape our community. With headliners Kiyomi and Ian Santillano, along with many other Pilipinx performers, we’re excited to create an evening full of connection and belonging.
Meet and Greet

About Ma"BOO"hay Talent Showcase
After 23 years, the Ma"BOO"hay Talent Showcase has been a terrific outlet for up-and-coming artists to hone their talents in front of a large audience that usually consists of a sold-out audience of more than 500 people. Our past headliners include Drop N' Harmony, A.J. Rafael, a collaborative performance featuring Gabe Bondoc, Leejay Abucayan, and Jeremy "Passion" Manongdo, Ramiele Malubay, Ruby Ibarra, Kierra Folsom, Jeff Bernat, Ashley Mehta, and Ylona Garcia. Our continuous goal for Ma”BOO”Hay is to not only highlight local and up-and-coming Pilipinx artists, but to also encourage others to learn about their history and roots, and advocate for justice within their communities.

About the Charity:
The organization we will be donating to is the Center for Art, New Ventures and Sustainable Development (CANVAS) in the Philippines. This nonprofit collaborates with the creative community to promote children’s literacy, explore national identity, and deepen public appreciation for Philippine art, culture, and the environment. One of their initiatives is the "One Million Books for One Million Children" campaign, aimed at providing children across the Philippines with access to quality reading materials. By ensuring that every child can engage with literature, CANVAS is fostering a love for reading and empowering the next generation.
100% of proceeds from our Ma”BOO”Hay Concert will be donated towards CANVAS' One Million Books to One Million Children Campaign!
*SJSU Strongly encourages all attendees to wear their masks and bring proof of vaccination
