Come join us in celebrating Greek culture and heritage at the heart of Greektown. The parade will feature traditional Greek music, dancing, and delicious food. 23rd Annual Detroit Greek Independence Day ParadeSunday, April 6, 2025
11:00 a.m. – Explore Greektown
Enjoy lunch and shopping in Greektown, walk around the neighborhood, talk to business owners and community members.
12:00 p.m. – Annunciation Cathedral Doxology (707 E. Lafayette Street)Join His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas for a prayer service before the parade.
1:30 p.m. – Pre-Parade Reception & Photos at the Atheneum Hotel (1000 Brush Street)
Meet & greet and photos with parade dignitaries and VIPs. The Evzones, a traditional Greek honor guard, and other parade participants in traditional dress will be on-hand.
2:30-2:45 p.m. – Parade Staging and Lineup
Parade participants take their places in the marching order
3:00 p.m. – 23rd Annual Detroit Greek Independence Day Parade Kicks Off
Our annual tradition, celebrating Greece and Greek-American culture in metro Detroit, Michigan, and beyond. Nearly 60 Greek-American organizations, churches, community groups, businesses, and other participants.
4:00 p.m. – Post-Parade Dancing & Photos in Monroe Street
Embrace your KEFI - the Greek spirit of joy! Music, dancing, and photos, with six local student dance groups participating and showcasing the rich culture of Greece.
