The 22nd Annual Martin Empty Bowls will be held once again at the Martin Public Library Stage on Saturday October 11th from 8:00am to 10:00am. The event will run alongside the Fall Harvest Festival Event of the Martin Farmer’s Market so come down and help support our local vendors as well. As in the past, proceeds from Martin Empty Bowls will go to support the local food pantry from WE CARE Ministries that services Weakley County. For newcomers to the event, Martin Empty Bowls is a regional project of the larger grassroots movement called Empty Bowls Project. This chapter of Empty Bowls was founded in 2003 by David McBeth, UTM Professor Emeritus and potter, to help combat food insecurities in Martin, Tennessee. Potter, Jason Woolery, and students of UTM have been busy creating hundreds of thoughtfully hand-crafted bowls in the university ceramics studio for this year's event. Each of these bowls will be available starting at a $15 donation.
We invite you to join us! Come peruse the wonderful, handmade bowls and help us support our neighbors in need.
