About this Event
History and Mission :
Our organization started in 2004 as a group of weekend motorcycle enthusiasts. Born from our weekend hobby was an idea to ride for a cause and help others. Our first, second and third Charity ride Motorcycle ride benefitted the Railroaders Memorial Museum. Since then, we have turned our attention to helping children in Central Pennsylvania with serious medical conditions. All told, we have given $600,000 to the Altoona Railroaders Memorial Museum, Operation Our Town, Jaffa Shrine Hospital, Jaffa Kids Christmas Party and 38 different children during the past 20 years. The monies given to these children are to be used to help these children and their families for the “comfort of the child”. Monies may be used for hospital lodging, transportation costs, medical bills or anything else for the child.
Burgi’s Low Life Riders is recognized as a 501 C3 (non profit organization) with the Internal Revenue Service and registered with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Bureau of Charitable Organization.
The Low Life Rider Chapter, Inc. has selected 3 more children this year to be beneficiaries of our 21st annual Charity Ride to be held on Sunday September 1st, 2024. The opening ceremonies and ride will begin and end at Roundhouse Harley Davidson. The after party includes dinner for ride participants, music, fellowship and refreshments
