The City of Alachua will be hosting its 20th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Legacy Park Multipurpose Center in Alachua, Florida. Vickie Winans, six-time Grammy award nominee with eight Stellar Awards and an NAACP Image Award, will be singing and delivering a keynote speech. Also planned for the event is a performance by Franz Emmanuel and a special puppet show presented by students in the Music and Arts Program.
Winans is much more than, “just a singer.” She is also a polished speaker, comedian and actress.
The Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration will conclude with a meal and time to gather as a community to remember and celebrate Dr. King.
