About this Event
Join us for fascinating speakers, engaging discussions, first-person re-enactors, videos, and interactive exhibits all centered around the rich history of Fairfax County and this year's theme, Home: Power of Place. Whether you're a history buff, a local resident, or just curious about the past, this event has something for everyone.
Located at the Stacy C. Sherwood Community Center, our conference brings together some of our most popular keynote speakers: film director Ron Maxwell (Gettysburg, Gods and Generals) and forensic anthropologist Doug Owsley of the Smithsonian Museum. We will also be visited by George Washington, George Mason, and his daughter Nancy. The conference also features a panel discussion featuring Marion Dobbins, Ron Chase, and Judge Rohumalin Quander, a presentation by historian Amy Bertsch, and video interviews on Rosenwald schools, the immigrant experience, and the Springdale community. Don't miss this opportunity delve into the history that shapes our home.
Come be a part of this special milestone as we celebrate two decades of preserving and sharing the history of Fairfax County. Mark your calendars and join us for a day of discovery, learning, and fun!
