About this Event
Take the guessing out of going out with the Shaka Club. Every week, we host an array of events for NYC’s 20, 30 and 40+somethings. From 100+ person parties to intimate happy hours, our events are your go-to place to meet like-minded people in your age range and have a great time while doing it. Whether you're new to the city or simply seeking fresh connections, come hang out!
Tickets to all Shaka Club events include our trademark event curation, curated guest list of people your age, on-site Shaka staff, private or semi-private venue access, event photography, party favors, and more! You’ll always be able to order whatever food and drinks you’d like from the venue’s offerings on your own tab directly through the venue.

About The Event:
Matchbox is a software powered by the technology behind the Marriage Pact that's matched over 750,000 people to date with their most compatible peers. This is NOT a dating event - matches will be focused on platonic relationships, but if your match happens to be the gender you're interested in romantically, there could be that additional spark! 😉
Access to happy hours like this are a free member perk. If you are not on a membership plan, you'll need to pay a fee to attend. You can sign up for membership here.
Here's how it works
- 7 PM: Upon arrival, you’ll take a matching questionnaire built by Matchbox's team of relationship scientists then hit the bar and mingle with other attendees.
- 7:30 PM: You'll meet up with the first group of people you're most compatible with - the Matchbox algorithm will identify the group based on relationship science, AI, and Nobel Prize-winning economics.
- 8:00 PM: You'll meet up with the second, smaller group of people who you're likely to get along with.
- 8:30 PM: THE person at happy hour who you're MOST compatible with will be revealed to you!
- 9:00 PM: Event concludes, but you are welcome to stay in the space and hang out!
Here's how to approach it
Come with an open mind and don't take it too seriously! This matching process is a fun way to mingle with more people than you typically would at happy hour. It's the perfect excuse to enter new conversations!
Here's what to expect
- The Shaka Club will have private access to the side bar at River Kitchen and Bar, complete with a fireplace and private bar!
- You can order whatever food and drinks you'd like from the venue's menu on your own tab directly through the bar (cocktails, beers, bar bites, etc.) (food and drinks are not included with ticket purchases),
- A curated group of attendees in their early/mid-20s,
- As always, Shaka staff will be there to greet you and provide assistance throughout the night.

Note: The age range is not an enforced restriction. If you are slightly older or younger than the ages listed, you can still sign up to attend, but you can expect that most attendees will be in the stated age range. And don't worry! We will be repeating great venues for different ages, so everyone will be able to enjoy them!
