This 20hr Remote First Aid is an exciting collaboration with Sage Creek Prairie School!LOCATION: Sage Creek Prairie School is located in Swift Current. The Sage Creek crew is hosting our October course and invites you to join and camp if you need a place to stay!
SCHEDULE:
Friday 6:30-9pm – arrival & greetings
Saturday & Sunday 8:30am-6:30pm
COST: $285 + GST
What is included in your fee:
20hr Red Cross Remote First Aid certification – valid 3 years
Consumable supplies that mimic a first aid kit
Canadian Red Cross Wilderness Field Guide
Camping on site for those who need!
WHAT TO BRING?
A “DAY PACk” of sorts that is similar to what you may reasonably take with you on your day trip / outdoor activity. Be creative and mindful of the variety of trips you do – having your own gear/essentials mean you have more items to practice skills/improvisation with.
We will be on the trails so wearing long pants/sleeves might be beneficial. A camp chair is almost a necessity at camp. Please bring your own food/water for the weekend. Bug/Sun protection is standard for this time of year. And when in doubt…have it in the car!
Your personal first aid kit is an essential item that we will go through together as we discuss items, supplies, and variety of options. You will lots of ideas from others and may have a little housekeeping to do in your own kit! Having them on hand is a great visual reference but we will not require you to use supplies in the practice/scenarios.
