The World Wetlands Day Symposium is an annual event that attracts over 200 participants each year, including Indigenous knowledge holders, community leaders, government representatives, industry professionals, NGOs, academics, students, and conservation practitioners. The symposium celebrates the ecological and cultural importance of wetlands, with a particular focus on Indigenous leadership, Traditional Knowledge, and cultural heritage. It serves as a collaborative forum for sharing knowledge and experiences related to wetland stewardship, conservation, and restoration, highlighting the vital role wetlands play in sustaining biodiversity, supporting water security, and strengthening community resilience in the face of climate change.
