About this Event
Join the Wisconsin Association for Play Therapy (WI-APT) at the beautiful Olbrich Botanical Gardents in Madison, WI for our 2026 annual conference that includes a full day of learning, connection, and continuing education for clinicians who use play therapy with children, adolescents, and families. Expect practical, skills-forward training, interactive discussion, and take-home tools you can implement immediately in your clinical work.
Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in two intermediate-level workshops:
- Play Therapy as Refuge: Affirming LGBTQ+ Youth & Families – focused on culturally responsive, affirming clinical spaces; microaggression repair; playroom/environment adaptations; and caregiver engagement strategies, with practical resources and implementation commitments.
- Beyond the Mask: Neuroaffirming Play Therapy in Practice – focused on neurodiversity-affirming care, sensory and regulation-informed play therapy adaptations, affirming therapist language, caregiver/school collaboration, and advocacy for accommodations across systems.
WI-APT Annual Board Meeting (Open to All): The WI-APT annual board meeting will take place from 12:00–1:00 PM and is open to all conference attendees who would like to attend.
