2026 Virginia Electric School Bus Workshop

Virginia Clean Cities invites school districts in Virginia to join an in-person workshop on electric school buses. Participants will learn from fleets, school districts, utilities, agencies, and community partners about technical opportunities and pathways for deployment of electric school buses. This program is supported by World Resources Institute and the Department of Energy.

Audience:

• School district transportation directors responsible for electrifying a school bus fleet
• Sustainability, energy and procurement staff that are involved in planning, charging,
• Contract staff or finance staff
• School administration or leadership who will oversee school bus electrification efforts
• Other interested parties in school bus electrification

Workshop Goals:

• Increase knowledge of electric school bus technology and charging
• Provide best practices and resources for planning for fleet electrification
• Connect school district leaders working on electrifying school buses to build a supportive peer network
