Unity Walk: Educate. Empower. Unite.February 21, 2025 | 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Join the Lynchburg community for the Unity Walk, a meaningful gathering designed to bring people of all ages together in the spirit of reflection, learning, and collective hope. Rooted in the theme Educate. Empower. Unite., this event honors the legacy of those who came before us while inspiring us to build a more connected, compassionate, and inclusive future.
The Unity Walk will feature speakers who will share words of wisdom, reflection, and encouragement, reminding us of the power of education, understanding, and shared purpose in strengthening our community. Participants will walk together from the Circle at Fifth and Federal Streets, through Old City Cemetery, to Taylor Street, and back, with special presentations along the route at Old City Cemetery and the Legacy Museum that highlight our shared history and its continued relevance today.
To ensure a welcoming and comfortable experience, a warming tent and hot beverages will be available, generously provided by The Yard on Fifth Street. Exhibitors from local organizations will be stationed along the walk, offering opportunities to learn more about the people and programs working to uplift our community.
We invite community organizations, nonprofits, and groups interested in hosting an exhibitor table, as well as musical, dance, and performance groups who would like to participate in the walk, to join us in creating a vibrant and meaningful experience for all.
Together, we will walk in unity, educating, empowering, and honoring the past while moving forward with intention and hope.
