David Stahle is a world-renowned dendrochronologist whose research uses tree rings to uncover centuries of climate history, from ancient cypress swamps in North Carolina to droughts that shaped civilizations across the Americas.
His work includes discovering the oldest known living trees in the eastern United States and advancing our understanding of climate variability across continents.
Join us for an evening that connects science, history, and discovery, and explores how trees help us understand our planet’s past and prepare for its future.
The Hosner Distinguished Lecture honors the visionary leadership of CNRE’s founding dean and is supported by a generous endowment from the Hosner family.
