The 16th Annual Chili Cook-Off event, hosted by the JBA Young Lawyers Section, is set for Feb. 21st - once again at the Riverside Arts Market in Downtown Jax!This event is free and open to the public, and all proceeds from the event this year will benefit the food pantry at St. Mary's Episcopal Church and Outreach Mission in Jacksonville. 💪
St. Mary's Episcopal Church has a legacy of more than 50 years committed to feeding our neighbors. In the 1960's, this took the form of a parish soup kitchen. In more recent years, they offered community meals alongside a dry goods food pantry available to all who came. Through strong partnerships with Feeding Northeast Florida and its grocery partners, a vibrant organic gardening program, and support of local churches and civic groups, their program has increased its capacity to serve, growing from 20 to well over 120 households per week.
The JBA YLS is thrilled to be supporting the local program and looks forward to seeing the legal community join in the effort.
