2026 Ivy & Pearls Black History Month Youth Art Contest Awards Ceremony

The Ivy & Pearls Youth Foundation in conjunction with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Rho Delta Omega Chapter proudly presents the 2026 Black History Month Youth Art Contest, celebrating young creatives, culture, and community through the theme: Black Resilience.

Come see original works that express the strength, perseverance, history, and brilliance of the Black experience as submitted by creatives ages 7–18 years old.

At the Awards Ceremony, the submitters will highlight their works and we will present 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes to individuals in each age group: 7-11, 12-15 and 16-18.

WANT TO SHOWCASE A PIECE IN THE CONTEST?

Participants, ages 7 - 18, may submit ONE original work in any of the following formats:

🎨 Visual Art (drawing, painting, mixed media, etc. - submit a photo)

✍🏾 Poetry

🎀 Spoken Word (video - no longer than 1 minute)

🎢 Musical Selection (video - no longer than 1 minute)

Each submission must include: artist’s full name, age, phone number, photo of the artist, and a brief description of the artwork and how it relates to the theme Black Resilience.

Important Notes:

All submissions must be original work

By submitting, participants grant permission for their work to be featured on Rho Delta Omega social media platforms

Attendance at the Awards Ceremony is required for prize recipients
