About this Event

Under the theme Beyond Differences: Collaboration and Competition in a Changing World,” GCBC 2026 will bring together global business leaders, nonprofit executives, and leading scholars, including a Nobel Prize winner, to explore the most pressing questions shaping today’s global landscape. This year’s conference will feature panels spanning China and the global economy, AI and technology, investment, healthcare, advanced manufacturing, and consumer goods, creating a platform for cross-industry dialogue and fresh perspectives that go beyond conventional thinking.

- Nobel Memorial Prize Laureate in Economic Sciences (2025)

Robert H. Strotz Professor of Arts and Sciences | Northwestern University

  • Awarded the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences for “identifying the prerequisites for sustained growth through technological progress” in 2025.
  • A leading economic historian whose work reshaped understanding of technological change, knowledge, and long-run economic growth, authoring influential books such as The Lever of Riches and A Culture of Growth.
  • Served in major editorial and professional roles, including senior editor of the Journal of Economic History and president of multiple economic associations.


- Chief Executive Officer | Yum China Holdings, Inc.

  • Leads China’s largest restaurant company (Fortune 500) to 17,000+ stores across 2,500+ cities and over $11 billion in annual revenue, operating iconic brands in China including KFC, Pizza Hut, Lavazza, Huang Ji Huang, Little Sheep, and Taco Bell.
  • Named to Fortune’s “100 Most Powerful People in Business” (2025) and consistently recognized on Fortune and Forbes “Most Powerful Women” lists.
  • Former Managing Director of Watsons UK; previously a management consultant at Kearney and McKinsey & Company.


- Deputy Managing Director | International Monetary Fund

  • Oversees the Fund’s engagement with about 90 IMF member countries and a wide range of macroeconomic and financial policy issues.
  • Served as Deputy Governor of the People’s Bank of China, where he led key policy departments and played an important role in state-owned bank reform, renminbi internationalization, anti–money-laundering legislation, and the development of China’s macroprudential framework.
  • Served as Vice Mayor of Chongqing, responsible for financial development, regulation, and foreign trade and investment.
