Celebrate the youth authors of three new board books from Shout Mouse Press! In partnership with Generation Hope.
About this Event

Shout Mouse Press is thrilled to announce the launch of our second Mini Mirrors Series – board books for the youngest readers that celebrate diverse experiences, authored by student parents. These 2026 titles were authored by student parents enrolled in Generation Hope’s Scholar Program: Andrea Martinez Alverado, Celeste Ampaah, Gracie Armstrong, Abby Bediako, Katie Delcid, Aniyah Jhanae Martin, Raylin Nuñez, Diana Padilla, and Tamara Huzair Sahin. These young authors also had the guidance of early childhood education experts from Inspired Child.

Come celebrate these nine authors and their new books at this fun event for adults and kids of all ages and explore storytelling and storyboarding in a hands-on way!

About the Books

Everyone deserves to see themselves on the page, starting with our youngest readers. The Mini Mirrors series features books for toddlers that celebrate diverse families and experiences.

Our 2026 titles were authored by student parents enrolled in Generation Hope’s Scholar Program in Washington, DC.
