The Lantern Festival is one of Cairns’ biggest cultural celebrations, marking the grand finale of the Chinese New Year season. Expect a vibrant night of cultural performances, songs, opera, Molihua dance, and our dragon and lion teams bringing the plaza to life — all leading up to a sky‑filling firework show to welcome the Year of the Horse in spectacular style. The whole celebration runs for a couple of hours, so grab some yummy Chinese food, settle in, and enjoy the show. And don’t forget to pick up a free red pocket — pop a coin or note inside and feed the lion for extra good luck!Food & Lantern stalls – 4:30pm
