About this Event
Naperville Preservation's 2026 Annual Meeting is open to all NPI members, supporters, and the interested public. This event is at no cost and will include:
- Snacks and fellowship
- A short formal meeting including election of officers by members
- A presentation It's All Greek to Me: How the Ideals of Democracy Shaped Building Design in Early Naperville, by our our guest speaker, Bryan Ogg, notable local columnist and author
About the presentation:
Naperville is a time capsule of some of the earliest examples of America's first architects. The Greek Revival style of architecture (1820-1860) is considered by some to be a uniquely American phenomenon, though examples of this style are found in many other countries. This presentation by Naperville author and historian Bryan J. Ogg will explore how ancient Greece found a home in the built environment of early Naperville and the individuals who shaped community history.
Park at the Van Buren Parking Deck; there is limited parking at Central Park.
