The Allentown Symphony’s Young Musician String Festival is comprised of students from the greater LehighValley. Students receive the music in advance to practice on their own and meet to rehearse as an ensemble with Diane Wittry and musicians from the Allentown Symphony Orchestra. This is a wonderful opportunity for youngmusicians to perform in an orchestra string ensemble on the Miller Symphony Hall stage with Diane Wittry.
This year’s program features arrangements of works performed by the Allentown Symphony this season:
- Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky - Symphony No. 5
- James Horner - My Heart Will Go On from The Titanic
- Henry Mancini - Peter Gunn
- John Williams - Star Wars Main Theme
- Clarice Assad - Frankenstein
