The Wickham Park Marathons include 26.2, 50, 100 & 200 mile fun runs. This is an old school, fat ass event: no entry fee, no aid stations, no SWAG.The 200 mile race is run in 50 mile stages with a 12:30 cutoff for each stage. The course consists of thirteen 3.75 mile loops and a out and back to complete 50 miles (the marathon is 7 loops). Finish the first stage in under 12:30 come back the next day for stage 2 (and so on through stage 4). Run as little or as far as you like. This year will be the 30th anniversary of the Wickham Marathon and the 25th year of the 100 mile run. In the 25 year history of the 100 mile race only 19 runners have completed the 100 mile distance. Of those 19, only 9 have gone on to finish the 200:
***Mark Henderson, Joe Ninke, Tim Purol, Stephanie Miller, Chris Knight, Thomas Grinovich, Michael Strezinski, Jeff Stephens and Doug Mayle***
This roughly equates to a 1% finish rate.
From 2016 - 2020, the WPM were run in an FKT format from Memorial Day to Labor Day. In 2021, the WPM returned to a race format.
The 2025 races will begin at 7:30 am on Saturday, May 24 and run through May 27.
