About this Event
The Office for Violence Prevention (OVP) is Louisville Metro Government’s dedicated office for violence reduction within our city. Since the office’s inception in 2013, formerly known as the Office for Safe & Healthy Neighborhoods (OSHN), it has been tasked with addressing violence through a myriad of interventions based on the public health approach to violence - including community violence interventions, civic engagement, mental health supports, targeted case management, youth engagement, and more.
2025 Violence Reduction Summit
Community engagement is integral toward effectively reducing gun violence. At the original violence reduction summit in 2023, we made great strides in mapping out the landscape of violence prevention providers across Louisville. In 2024, after taking inventory of the work that's happening, we were able to move forward in developing the processes necessary for continuous communication, information sharing, and recommended best practices that make individual and group action possible.
Attendees of 2025 Violence Reduction Summit: Strengthening Louisville's Violence Prevention Landscape can expect opportunities to connect with others doing similar work, learn from national experts, and continue to collectively grow our capacity to prevent and respond to local violence.
A continental breakfast will be available between 8am-9am. A boxed lunch will be served in the afternoon. Check-in will be available promptly at 8am.
