Join us on Thanksgiving morning at 9am to run, walk, bike, rollerblade, scooter or whatever a 5K through Portland's river trail. Bring your littles in the strollers and well behaved dogs. Then, join us for camaraderie in the beer garden following the run until 11am. Thanksgiving and/or turkey attire is recommended. Participation fee is $15 for adults and $12 for youth. If you sign up three or more people, you'll get a $1 discount on each participant. Fee includes a shirt with this year's logo, snacks and water at the finish. The proceeds from this event will be split evenly and go towards Portland Public Schools and St. Patrick's Catholic Schools right here in Portland. Any additional snacks and water will be donated to Portland Backpacks for Bellies. "Portland Backpacks for Bellies" is a non-profit organization in Portland, Michigan, that provides weekend meal kits to students in need through the Portland Public School system. These meal kits, assembled by volunteers, contain ready-to-eat and easy-to-prepare foods like granola bars, milk, and oatmeal, which are distributed to students on Fridays to cover their food needs when school is not in session. The organization accepts monetary donations, food donations, and volunteers to help fulfill its mission.
If you have no desire to get a T-shirt but want to join us anyway, feel free to just show up. Deadline to register and guarantee a t-shirt is November 13. Registration ends November 26th.
