The annual Christmas Parade kicks off again on Sunday, 30th November starting outside the Kay St council offices. We've been invited to participate in the event.
The Parade will commence at 10.30am on the November 30.
Set up from 9am in the car park out the front of the library in Kay Street and will finish at the bottom of Kay St near Post Office Place.
We would like to see up to 6 bikes in the parade, all decked out in Christmassy stuff. We would also like someone to volunteer to lead our segment of the parade, ideally in a sidecar with Christmas decorations and the club banners on display.
The organisers have also asked us not to throw lollies or other stuff out to the kids from the moving vehicles. In the past they're seen kids run out into traffic to grab them. So, with that in mind, could club members who want to participate but not ride in the parade be willing to follow the bikes from the footpath or close to the roadside kerb to distribute them to the kids as safely as possible?
Please indicate your willingness to participate in the discussions below.
The opportunity to expose the club to the general public is enormous and could have wide ranging benefits from brand recognition to increased membership and a firmer and secure relationship with the Latrobe City Council.
Thanks.
Martin Taylor, Xmas Parade bike co-ordinator.
