SAR members and invited guest are welcome to join us for the 2025 Third Quarter Meeting held at the historic Pittsburgh Golf Club on Sunday September 7th, 2025 at 11:30 am. The Pittsburgh Golf Club was created by some of Pittsburgh’s leading citizens living in the East End for their own pleasure and for the pleasure of their families and friends. They wanted a “place like home” with manners, language and décor that made them feel “ at home.”
Tom McMillan, author of the new book The Year That Made America: From Rebellion to Independence, 1775–1776, will talk about the untold story of how America's declaration of independence hinged on seven critical months in 1776 and the courageous votes that changed the world forever. This gripping account reveals the precarious path to American independence through a series of pivotal dates that history has nearly forgotten.
