1pm-3pm Nature Journaling Spring Series
Join us for Nature Journaling at Prophetstown SP! This series is for beginners and taught by beginners! In each class, we’ll offer a lesson on a natural topic or artistic skill followed by time to journal. Our journaling series will encourage thoughtful observation and in-depth exploration. Each class will focus on a different topic:
- March 23rd- Migration
- April 27th- Amphibians
- May 25th – Geology
Attendance to 3 classes included in the cost. Pay for attendance through the DNR Calendar (LINK). Register for the sessions you will attend individually through EventBrite. Costs are detailed below:
• $31 per person, covers 3 classes, with journaling kit provided.
• $15 per person, covers 3 classes, no journaling kit provided.
This series is for ages 15 and up. Payment due at time of registration through DNR Calendar (LINK). Scholarships available if costs are prohibitive.
Registration instructions- through the DNR calendar (LINK), select one date of the three listed for the spring series. Select if you'd like us to provide a journaling kit ($31) or you'd like to supply your own ($15). This fee only needs to be paid ONCE and covers attendance to three nature journaling sessions. Three nature journaling classes are offered each season in Spring, Summer, and Fall. Once you have paid your kit fee, follow the link the the EventBrite website and register for the nature journaling sessions you will attend.
Items provided in journaling kit (if you are not purchasing the kit, we suggest bringing these items to class):
• 5.5in x 8in Mixed media spiral bound journal
• Writing pen, writing pencil
• Non-photo blue pencil
• Kneaded eraser
• Pencil sharpener
• Plastic pencil case
• Watercolor travel palette with removable wells
• 1 mini water brush
We will provide the following for all participants to share:
• Prismacolor colored pencils
• Water color paints
• Water color paper
• Fineliner pens
• Stamps and stickers
Suggested items to bring:
• Small folding chair or camping chair
• Old sock for brush blotting
Details regarding where to meet will be sent to registered participants prior to the class.
